KUALA LUMPUR, 29 DECEMBER, 2011: Those using colored contact lenses risk having serious eye infections that can later lead to damaged eyeballs, reported Sin Chew Daily.

Quoting a report from Hong Kong's The Sun newspaper, it claimed that four types of colored lenses with prints of smiley face, pink leopard, stars and cat's eye can damage the eyeballs.

Experts examined the lenses and found that the colors and prints were only on the surface of the lenses and their distribution was not balanced.

Furthermore, they also believed that it would discolor once the user rubs the lenses.
